The filmmaking debut of Interpol bassist Carlos D is set to premiere next month in New York City.

The bass player, whose full name is Carlos Dengler, produces and stars in the 26-minute film, and also provided the score for the project entitled ‘My Friends Told Me About You’.

The short film "looks at the idea of celebrity as affliction", and debuts at the city's Anonymous Gallery on April 17. It will be shown through to May 5.

A full schedule of events surrounding the premiere will be announced in the upcoming weeks, stay tuned to NME.COM for more details.
