Interpol man to release solo album Interpol Tickets

Paul Banks adopts alrternative name for side project

Interpol frontman Paul Banks is readying a new solo album, which will be released under the name Julian Plenti.

The new album is titled 'Skyscraper', and is due out in the US August 4.

Banks has written under the Plenti penname for many years, according to Billboard. Some of the songs on the album are brand new, but others were written more than ten years ago. The album reportedly has a "cocky, sexy" feel.

For more information on Banks' side project, including samples of his music, head to Julianplenti.com. Plenti is a name Banks used to perform under before Interpol and was credited with engineering a 2005 remix of the band's track 'NARC'.

Meanwhile, Interpol have been busy rehearsing new material for the follow-up to 2007's 'Our Love To Admire'.
