Interpol frontman Paul Banks is to release a new solo EP this summer.

The singer will release the EP, which is titled 'Julian Plenti Lives...', in June and has included covers of Frank Sinatra's 'I'm A Fool To Want You', J Dilla's 'Mythsysizer' and Harold Faltermeyer's 'Perimeter Deactivated', which is the theme to the film Running Man, on the release.

The EP, which will be released on Matador Records, will also include original efforts 'Summertime Is Coming' and 'Cavern Worship'.

The five-track EP will be given a limited edition release of 1,500 CDs and 2,300 vinyl copies. It will also be available digitally.

'Julian Plenti Lives...' will preview Banks' second solo album, which is due for release later this summer. The EP and forthcoming album represent the first time Banks has recorded under his own name, having previously adopted the Julian Plenti alias for his solo offerings. He released his solo debut 'Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper' in 2009.

Interpol released their most recent album, the self-titled 'Interpol', in 2010. Bassist Carlos Dengler left the band not long after the album was completed. You can watch the video for the band's previous single 'Lights' by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The tracklisting for 'Julian Plenti Lives...' is as follows:

'Perimeter Deactivated'
'Summertime Is Coming'
'Mythsysizer'
'I'm A Fool To Want You'
'Cavern Worship'
