Apple unveils new iPhone
New 3G S smart phone is faster and offers better battery life
Apple has unveiled its latest iPhone.
Called the iPhone 3G S - the 'S' stands for speed - Apple says the phone offers better battery life than previous models, as well as faster loading times for internet and gaming applications.
Apple's senior vice-president and marketing chief Phil Schiller announced the new product at the company's annual Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco yesterday (June 8).
Other new features on the iPhone 3G S include the ability to cut, copy and paste text, internet tethering and a tool allowing users to search the entire phone.
Users who own older models of the iPhone will be able to upgrade to the latest operating system for free on June 17, while the iPhone 3G S will be available to buy from O2 from June 19.
