Isaac Hayes Foundation benefits in will
Late singer's estate is split between family and foundation
Isaac Hayes left part of his fortune to the Isaac Hayes Foundation, splitting the rest between his wife and children.
The singer passed away on August 10 in Memphis after being found unconscious near a treadmill in his home. He was 65.
Hayes was discovered by his wife, son and his wife's cousin who returned home from buying groceries to find him on the floor of a downstairs bedroom. After being taken to hospital, Hayes was pronounced dead.
The will was filed last week, but the value and contents of the estate were not filed.
The Isaac Hayes Foundation, which promotes literacy, music and nutrition, according to his will. Hayes’ contributions to charity included the building of a school in Ghana.
