JA RULES!

The star plays a sold-out NME show in the West End - and lets everyone know he's around...

JA RULES!
Multi-platinum selling US hip hop superstar JA RULE took over the centre of LONDON last night (December 11) after he played a sold-out NME-sponsored show at the city centre ASTORIA venue.

Hundreds of Ja Rule fans (mostly teenage girls) queued up outside the venue for up to six hours before the doors opened at 7pm (GMT).

His record label Def Jam had plastered the surrounding streets with promo stickers and posters and parked their Def Jam street team bus outside the venue.

Ja Rule took the stage last night at around 9.45pm to an ecstatic reaction and played for just over 30 minutes. His set included favourites like 'Between Me And You', 'Put It On Me' and his recent Jennifer Lopez collaboration 'I'm Real'.

The show closer was a collaboration he recorded with the late Tupac Shakur called 'So Much Pain', from Ja's latest 'Pain Is Love' album. He dedicated the song to the slain rapper before leaving the stage.

As he disappeared into the wings, two young female fans managed to get
on the stage and steal his towels before being bundled off by security.

Ja Rule didn't attend the aftershow party held at Wardour Street's Properganda bar, and it's believed there was a small disturbance at the club as the night wore on though it could not be confirmed as we went to press.
