Jack White to play debut UK solo show tonight (April 23) Jack White Tickets
Singer will celebrate the release of 'Blunderbuss' with intimate London show
The former White Stripes man will headline London's HMV Forum ahead of three more dates in the capital in June, when he'll play O2 Academy Brixton (June 21), HMV Hammersmith Apollo (22) and Radio 1's Hackney Weekender (23).
Speaking to NME previously about his plans for his live solo shows, White has said he will be playing without a set list and will be touring with two backing bands, one all male and the other all female.
Asked about his live plans, he said: "No setlist. Two bands. One all-female, one all-male, with people who've never been in bands who have no setlist. I'm going to decide at breakfast who plays that night, the girls or the guys."
Then asked why he'd opted for this set-up, White replied: "To shake myself up as a performer. To shatter preconceptions. It's a great thing to make people think about what's going on in the room."
White's set is almost certain to include a number of tracks from his days in The White Stripes as well as a large chunk of his solo album 'Blunderbuss', which was released today.
Check back to NME.COM later tonight for a full report from the show.
