Jack White: 'I've got another 12 songs that I haven't finished yet' Jack White Tickets
Singer confirms he has another album's worth of material yet to be released
Speaking about recording his debut solo album, he told Radio 1's Zane Lowe: "We had enough for an album at one point, but I just kept going…I've got another 12 songs that I haven't finished yet."
He added: "There's songs that White Stripes never really played live, or Raconteurs never really got that into, or songs that I brought to the table in a band - songs like 'Buffalo' - and now I can elaborate on them".
Speaking of his new set-up with one all-male and one all-female band and lack of set-list for live shows, White said:
The easy thing to do would be to go and find four or five guys to play in just like the record and stand behind me. I just didn't want to bore myself to death and bore people with that jazz and it just to just be some nostalgia thing.
He continued: "If we're going to play a Dead Weather track, a Raconteurs track or a White Stripes song or whatever it is, it needs to be alive in the moment. It has to be something new to everybody on stage, it can't be some recreation of something from years ago. I don't wanna waste my time doing that."
White played his first ever UK solo show this week (April 23), headlining London's HMV Forum the day 'Blunderbuss' was released. His debut solo effort looks set to score him a Number One album this Sunday (April 29) and is on course to knock Adele off the top of the charts, according to the Official Charts Company. He is also on course to hit Number One of the Billboard 200 chart in the US next Wednesday (May 2) as well.
In a busy week for the singer, it was also revealed that he will be writing the soundtrack to the new Disney's 'The Lone Ranger' film.
Jack White will return to the UK for more gigs in June. To check the availability of Jack White tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
