Jack White, Damon Albarn, Jamie xx nominated for Music Producers Guild Awards

Alt-J, The Maccabees, Florence and the Machine are all also up for gongs

Jack White, Damon Albarn and Jamie xx are amongst those nominated for this year's Music Producers Guild Awards.

Nominees for the main gong, UK Producer of the Year, which is sponsored by The BRIT Awards, are Damon Albarn, Jake Gosling and Paul Epworth, whilst Danger Mouse, Jack White and Max Martin are all up for International Producer of the Year.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 7, 2013.

The Beatles producer Sir George Martin will receive an outstanding contribution award.

Meanwhile, in the UK Album of the Year category, nods have been given to Alt-J for 'An Awesome Wave', Ed Sheeran for '+', Florence and The Machine for 'Ceremonials' and Paloma Faith for 'Fall To Grace'.

Jamie xx of The xx has been nominated in the Remixer of the Year category, alongside Matthew Herbert and UNKLE.
