Jack White has explained why he was featured in pictures selling chocolate bars with a young boy in Los Angeles earlier this year.

The picture, which you can see above, was posted on White's Instagram page on Sunday, January 26 - the same day as the Grammy Awards took place. It shows White holding a large Snickers bar and sitting next to a boy, also offering chocolate, on the side of the road. The unusual image was accompanied with a caption which read: "Are you sure The Grammys are tonight?"

Speaking to Rolling Stone about the picture, White explained the story behind the shot. "I was trying to help break up a disagreement between two young salesmen staking a claim for the same spot," he said of the image, which was taken near L.A. Airport. "I tried to get one of them to go in front of Starbucks down the block, but he didn't think you could sell any candy there. Free business advice to youngsters is part of every American's debt to society."

Earlier this year, Jack White said he was currently working on two different albums. "I'm producing two records this month, and finishing them," he wrote in an online chat. "One of them is mine."

White released his debut solo album 'Blunderbuss' in 2012, and recently released a new single with his band The Dead Weather. Young, meanwhile, is currently on tour playing benefit concerts in opposition to the Alberta tar sands.
