Jake Bugg has revealed he wants to support Arctic Monkeys on tour.

The Nottingham newcomer has bagged huge support slots in the past with The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and, in a video interview with NME.COM which you can watch by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking, he said that he was keen to continue the trend by playing with the Sheffield band.

"I'd like to support the Arctic monkeys, that would be cool," he said. "But I've already supported the Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher, which are two of the biggest ones for me. The Arctic Monkeys would be wicked, and I'm just looking forward to doing my own shows, really."

The singer-songwriter also spoke about the forthcoming release of his highly-anticipated self-titled debut LP and said he couldn't wait to put the record out. "There seems to be quite a bit of momentum that's built up to the album and it seems to be getting quite a few good reactions," he said.

"People seem to be excited for it to come out and obviously I'm very excited because it's a big thing for a singer-songwriter, their first album, and I kind of wish it was coming out a month or two earlier. I think there's been quite a bit of anticipation for it."

Bugg will release the album on October 15 and will tour the UK next month in support of the LP's release. The tracklisting of 'Jake Bugg' is as follows:
