Jake Bugg has said that he would ideally like to release two more albums before he steps up to headlining festivals again.

The singer-songwriter is playing a number of high profile slots this summer and topped the Other Stage line-up at Glastonbury last weekend (June 28). Asked by NME whether he would feel confident enough to step up to the position of main stage headliner, Bugg said that he still feels like he needs more material.

"The truth is you've got to have the songs and I've got two albums," said Bugg at London's British Summer Time festival last night (June 3). "If there was any chance at all I'd need to put another album, or even two, out that was up to the same scratch. So not at the moment, no."

Bugg appeared on the British Summer Time bill alongside Future Islands, Wild Beasts and headliners Arcade Fire. In August he will play directly before Arctic Monkeys at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.

It was recently revealed that bookmakers have tipped Iron Maiden to be the next Glastonbury headliner with Kate Bush, Oasis and Coldplay also in contention.
