British R&B star JAMELIA has given birth to a baby girl, called TEJA.


The baby's name comes from the first two letters of her parents' names - Terry and Jamelia.


Teja was born on Sunday morning and weighed in at 7lb 7oz. A spokesperson said that Jamelia had used her time off while in the later stages of pregnancy to write new material, which she hoped to start work on soon. She is likely to relaunch her career later in the year.
