James Blunt has criticised Damon Albarn for hiding his upper-class background.

Blunt, who was privately educated at the exclusive Harrow School in north west London, also claims he is one of the few stars in the music industry who doesn't hide their roots.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I was just the only one who didn't hide my accent. I mean, come on, Damon Albarn, he's right up there. He's got an orchard full of plums in his mouth and a silver spoon stuck up his arse."

Raised in Leytonstone, east London and around Colchester, Essex, Albarn attended Stanway Comprehensive School, where he met Graham Coxon and eventually formed Blur.

Meanwhile, Albarn will release his debut solo album 'Everyday Robots' on April 28. In the current issue of NME, which is on newsstands now and available digitally, Albarn says a new Gorillaz album will "definitely happen in the future" and making an album with Noel Gallagher is a "distinct possibility" in future.

You can also watch a video of Albarn talking about his debut solo album and his future plans with Blur, below.
