Argument over the late Godfather of Soul ends in gunfire

A man has been shot following an argument over James Brown in Atlanta.

Dan Gulley Jr has been charged with assault over the shooting of David James Brooks Jr on Monday (January 8).

The pair had apparently been involved in a heated argument over exactly how tall the late Godfather Of Soul was.

Witnesses said that the disagreement escalated to the point where Gulley shot Brooks twice in the abdomen.

Brooks then went to his car to get a gun. He shot at Gulley but missed.

Brooks then went to the police station, and was closely followed by Gulley, who confessed what he had done. He remained at Escambia County Jail yesterday (January 11).

Brooks was taken to hospital but information on his condition was not available, reports the Columbus Dispatch.
