She says she never divorced the late 'Godfather of Soul'

A woman from Georgia has claimed to be the wife of James Brown.

Velma Warren Brown, 73, said that she married the late ‘Godfather of Soul’ in 1953 and they never divorced.

Warren Brown’s attorney, David Bell, said that she was never served with divorce papers, and that she filed court papers in South Carolina saying the couple had three children and lived together for 17 years, reports the Associated Press.

Brown’s estate is currently in dispute among his other alleged ex-wives.
