James Brown's possessions to be auctioned off

Money will be used to pay late singer's tax bills

James Brown’s belongings are set to be sold in an effort to raise money to pay taxes owed by the late singer’s estate.

It is not clear what will be auctioned, but family members have been asked to list the things they don’t want to be sold. Tomi Rae Hynie, the woman who says she is Browns’ fourth wife and mother of one of his children says several automobiles were gifts to her from Brown and should not be included in the auction,

Brown’s death in December 2006 has left several question marks over his trust and will, which is being contested by several of his children who say he was influenced into to leaving so much of his estate to charity.

His belongings were apparently supposed to be divided equally between his six children but Hynie is maintaining she should get half of the entire estate, reports the Associated Press.
