Smashing Pumpkins, Cheap Trick members form band

Hanson and Fountains Of Wayne men also in new act

Former guitarist James Iha is part of a new band that also includes members of Cheap Trick, Fountains Of Wayne and Hanson.

Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos, Taylor Hanson, and bassist Adam Schlesinger of Fountains Of Wayne round out the line-up of Tinted Windows, and they’ve already recorded their debut album.

It was recorded at the Schlesinger-Iha-owned Stratosphere Sound Studios in New York, and according to Billboard, will be released in the spring.

The band will play their first publicised gig at South By South West in Austin on March 20.

This band is already discredited due to Hanson being involved. This band can't be taken seriously with a member of Hanson in it.

Oh get over yourself, Stu. While I dislike Hanson's music as much as the next guy, the kid can clearly play. His involvement actually makes this even more interesting to me. Iha and Schlesinger aside (they already worked together a bunch), this is a very strange line-up.

" in 2001...after label executives refused over 80 songs from the band, believing new material lacked marketability, and insisting on restricting the recording process." ...this happened to the Hanson when they evolved from a total teen pop marketing band to a more mature and serious adult band... and the label dont like the evolution... so they became independent... and they recorded two albums (with good reviews) ...until now... most people out here think that the actual Hanson are the same of those of 1997...you derailed...people grows...i m not a fan of the hanson but... i dont judge bands before i ve heard their actual material & this band and chemistry between members & z result will b different...this supergroup is a risky project...but why not ?.. surely they have balls to try it... and their age is a kaleidoscope... Iha and Shlesinger are 40 now... Ben Carlos is 57 and the singer and keyboard is 25 ... hopefully for the marketing ...the very old is at the back !
