Elvis Costello turns talk show host

Lou Reed, The Police, Jenny Lewis among guests

Lou Reed, The Police and Jenny Lewis are among the guests who have been lined up to appear on a new talk show hosted by Elvis Costello.

The programme, entitled 'Spectacle: Elvis Costello With...', will air on the Sundance channel in the US, and will feature musical performances by, and interviews with, She And Him, Smokey Robinson, Rufus Wainwright, Herbie Hancock, Norah Jones, Rosanne Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Diana Krall, John Mellencamp, Jakob Dylan, Renée Fleming, James Taylor, and former US President Bill Clinton.

The start of every show will feature a special performance by Costello himself, who will cover a song by a featured artist on the show, reports [url= Pitchfork]Pitchfork[/url].

The series kicks off with Elton John, who also executive produced the show, on December 3.

I assume the show's theme tune will be Costello's 'Let Them All Talk?' Fair play to him, he is a real renaissance man, though I wish he'd give us another album in the vein of Imperial Bedroom or Brutal Youth...
