Jamie T debuts new songs on intimate warm-up tour Jamie T Tickets

Oxford gets five new tracks from forthcoming album

Jamie T previewed five new songs at his gig in Oxford last night (March 2).

Playing the city's O2 Academy as part of a five date mini-tour, the Wimbledon singer-songwriter played a host of material expected to end up on his second album, due out in June.

Opening with first album track 'Operation', Jamie T did not waste much time previewing new songs.

"Thank you for coming to see us play, I know it's been a while," he told the sold-out crowd, "but I don't plan on stopping now."

A few songs in, he performed newies 'Sticks And Stones' and '368'. Briefly changing the mood with a solo version of 'Back In The Game' played on his acoustic bass guitar, a third new song, the fully amped-up 'British Intelligence', followed.

Jamie T played a further two new songs - 'Jilly Ameen' and 'Emily's Heart' - both of which revealed a more tender acoustic side to the singer.

The set also included a cover of 'Policemen' by Scottish outfit The Silencers.

Wrapping the show up with loud sing-alongs for former singles 'Salvador' and 'Sheila', Jamie T told NME.COM that the mini-tour will be the first of many as he gears up to release his currently untitled second album.

"We're just trying to get back into it testing out some new stuff," he explained. "And It's been incredibly easy actually, we're not going to stop now, I'm just about to book a new tour."

Jamie T played:

'Operation'
'So Lonely Was The Ballad'
'Ike And Tina'
'Sticks And Stones'
'368'
'Back In The Game'
'If You Got The Money'
'British Intellgence'
'Calm Down Dearest'
'Jilly Ameen'

Gary: If a Jamie T gig is one of the best gigs you've ever been to, you definitely need to get out more.
