Jamie T plays to giant John Peel crowd at Glastonbury
Singer previews new songs at festival
With some of the audience forced to watch from outside, the troubadour played a set drawn from first album 'Panic Prevention' and his forthcoming second release 'Kings And Queens'.
"How are you this lovely evening, are you ready to dance?" asked the singer as he took to the stage. Single 'Sticks N' Stones', despite not being released until next week, received a big singalong.
"How you doing there outside?" asked Jamie T, acknowledging the large numbers who had turned up.
The high octane set also saw several new songs get a live preview, with the singer asking the audience, "Do you want to hear another new song?", ahead of the likes of 'Earth, Wind And Fire' and later '368'.
"How crazy are you?" the singer then asked before 'If You've Got The Money', though he restarted the song, declaring the audience weren't crazy enough.
The crowd duly stepped it up, practically taking on lead vocals as the song turned into a mass singalong.
It set the pattern for the rest of the set as 'Back In The Game' - dedicated to John Peel - 'Calm Down Dearest' - pledged to TV show Come Dine With Me ("I'm a big fan" said the singer) - and 'Salvador' all received the same ecstatic response.
"This Glastonbury is a British institution," declared the singer. "This is the best festival in the world!"
The Wimbledon man then finished off with a storming version of 'Sheila'.
