BANNED HEAT IN MY REELS TONIGHT, BABY
Video attack on photographer might have been in contempt of court...
Kay's video, for single, 'You Give Me Something' set for release on November 12, is a tongue-in-cheek look at a day in the life of the star. It features scenes of him reclining in the back of a limo with a bevy of beauties. The offending scene features Kay mock-attacking a photographer, a reference to alleged attack by the singer on photographer Dennis Gill outside the Attica nightclub in London in the early hours of April 14. Technically, the scene cannot be shown as it could influence court proceedings, and would therefore breach contempt-of-court law.
Kay appeared before Bow Street Magistrates Court in London last week to face assault charges stemming from the alleged attack. He is also alleged to have smashed camera equipment worth over #250. There will be another hearing on October 22, which Kay does not have to attend.
The video is directed by Dawn Shadforth, who has previously worked with Moloko and also helmed the promo for Kylie Minogue's current chart-topper 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'.
