Initial dates announced for Janet Jackson tour

The first shows have been unveiled on the forthcoming tour by Janet Jackson, the first from the singer in seven years.

Three dates in Canada have been confirmed, as have a further two in US, including one at East Rutherford’s Izod Center in New Jersey.

Tickets for the shows will be available first to members of Jackson’s fan club, which will be launched any day now. This presale will begin May 30. Holders of the Citi credit card will be the next group to whom tickets are made available on June 2, with a general sale starting June 7.

As previously reported, Jackson had intended to tour her 2006 album ’20 Y.O’ but while in the midst of rehearsals she went back to the studio to record a new album, at the request of her record label.

As a result, the tour will see Jackson perform material from her 2006 album as well as her recently released ‘Discipline’ album.

The dates announced so far are:

Vancouver, British Columbia -GM Place (September 10)
Montreal, Quebec Centre Bell (29)
Toronto, Ontario Air Canada Centre (October 13)
Washington, DC Verizon Center (15)
East Rutherford, NJ Izod Center (17)
