Janet Jackson splits with record label

Singer apparently felt her album wasn't promoted enough

Janet Jackson has split with her record label, parting ways because she reportedly felt the label did not support her last album enough.

According to the album’s producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, the deal that Jackson signed with Island/Def Jam in 2007 came to an end after she felt the her record ‘Discipline’, wasn't pushed, a sentiment that Jerkins shares:

“I felt like it wasn't pushed correctly” he said in an interview with rap-up.com. “She just didn't get her just-do as an artist of that magnitude."

Meanwhile, Jerkins also said that he hopes to return to Jackson’s glory days by making an album with fellow super-producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and that a “classic Janet record” is on the cards.
