Janet Jackson postpones all tour dates as she ‘plans to start a family’

Singer had been scheduled to tour the UK during March

Janet Jackson has announced that she has postponed all of her upcoming live dates as she focuses on starting a family with her husband.

The singer had been scheduled to tour the UK during March but “scheduling difficulties” were previously blamed for the cancellation.

Now in an announcement video posted to Twitter, Jackson, 49, said: “My husband and I are planning our family – so I’m going to have to delay the tour.”

She added: “Please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up [on] doctor’s orders. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Jackson did not indicate in the clip whether she is currently pregnant or not. Jackson married her husband, Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana, in 2012.

Earlier this year Jackson revealed she had to undergo surgery on her vocal cords.

Jackson’s surgery came after she was forced to postpone a series of US tour dates in 2015.
