NEW PEARLS FROM JANIS

New JANIS JOPLIN material is to be released this year, after her ex-boyfriend JAMES GURLEY added a new backing to 34-year-old tapes of the rock legend, who died in 1970.

Gurley, who was in Big Brother And The Holding Company with Joplin, told www.radioundercover.com
that he got the idea to rework the tracks after hearing what The Beatles did with Lennon's 'Free As A Bird' and 'Real Love' on the 'Anthology' series.

He has added his own slide guitar to the tracks, but said that he did not change the vocals.

The album will be released under the title 'This Is Janis Joplin'.
