Jarvis Cocker, Beck, New York Dolls and New Young Pony Club have all been added to the lineup for V Festival Australia.

The artists will join a bill that already includes Pixies, Gnarls Barkley, The Rapture, Groove Armada, Soulwax and Pet Shop Boys.

The festival takes place in late March and early April as a one-day event in Sydney and on Queensland 's Gold Coast, with two evening shows featuring selected acts in Melbourne and Adelaide.

Both Pixies and New York Dolls have never toured Australia before.

As previously reported on NME.COM, the Australian leg is part of an international expansion of V Festival by owner and entrepreneur Richard Branson, who announced in September 2006 that the bash - which last year took place in the UK as well as the US and Canada - was also looking for sites in Italy, Spain and South America.

The dates and details are as follows.

Sydney Centennial Park (March 31) – full lineup
Gold Coast Avica Resort (April 1) – full lineup
Melbourne Sidney Myer Music Bowl (3) - Pet Shop Boys, Groove Armada, Gnarls Barkley and The Rapture with more to be announced
Adelaide Memorial Drive (3) - Pixies, Jarvis Cocker and Phoenix with more to be announced
