Jarvis Cocker is set to make a speech at the Manchester In The City music conference on October 7.
The former Pulp singer's speech at the Midlands Hotel will be entitled 'Saying the Unsayable', and will be a subjective exploration into the lyrics of musicians Cocker admires, as well as his own.
The annual music conference, originally set up by the late Factory Records mogul Tony Wilson and his partner Yvette Livesey, is set to begin on October 5, and will see signed and unsigned bands playing across venues in the city.
