Jay Reatard's band quits mid-tour putting autumn dates in doubt
Jay Reatard's band have left him midway through his autumn tour of North America.

The Memphis musician revealed he was on his own in a Twitter post.

"Band quit! Fuck them! They are boring rich kids who can't play for [s]hit anyways," the singer wrote on Twitter.com/JayReatard. "Say hello to your ugly and boring wifes, opps I mean life guys, suck it."

Without a band the future of his current tour of the US as well as the UK and Ireland dates next month have been called into question, although Reatard says he plans to continue and is to begin auditions shortly.

"I'm going to be auditioning new members soon and I really hope to make it to Europe and start fresh," Reatard told NME.COM. "All the bullshit aside, our band is a really easy one to be in. Ride in the van, listen to jams, load in gear, eat great food, drink free beer, get paid well, load out, go to the hotel, repeat," he explained of what life will be like for the new members.

"I honestly love those guys no matter what my dumb Twitter post says," Reatard added of his former band. "They kinda quit out of nowhere, me and the tour manager thought it was a joke!"

Reatard, who released his debut album 'Watch Me Fall' in August, is due to play the following dates on his tour of the UK and Ireland.

Birmingham O2 Bar Academy (November 10)
Glasgow King Tut's (11)
Manchester Roadhouse (12)
London Underworld (13)
Bristol Croft (14)
Liverpool Masque (15)
Dublin Whelans (16)
