Hip-hop legend comes out of retirement

Jay-Z is to perform at New York’s Radio City Music Hall to mark ten years since the release of his debut album.

The 3,000 capacity hall sold out less than two minutes after tickets were released for the June 25 gig to celebrate the release of 1996's ‘Reasonable Doubt’.

It has been speculated Jay-Z is to play his debut in full but this, along with the possibility of special guests, is unconfirmed.

However, announcing the event, the Roc-A-Fella Records head said: "I don't want to put myself in a box. Anything can happen…I want the purist to be there - the 'Reasonable Doubt' lovers."

Jay-Z left the music spotlight with a ‘retirement party’ in November 2003 at Madison Square Garden, but has made sporadic appearances at friends’ gigs since, while concentrating on the management of his label and new artists.
