Jay-Z has revealed he has started collecting Damien Hirst artworks.

The rapper, who headlined Glastonbury at the weekend (June 28), told Jonathan Ross on the BBC that he recently had taken an interest in the art world.

"I'm into art now," the Brooklyn-born rapper declared, explaining he had recently purchased a painting by Hirst

The painting, titled 'Beat Life And Cheat Death', was inspired by lyrics from the rapper's 2007 album 'American Gangster'.

Jay-Z also featured Hirst's diamond encrusted skull in the visuals during his headlining set at Glastonbury.
