Jay-Z's British protege K Koke charged with attempted murder

Young rapper charged in relation to shooting in March

Jay-Z's British protégé K Koke has been charged with attempted murder.

The rapper, real name Kevin Georgiou, has been remanded in custody accused of shooting a man in the back at Harlesden Train Station on March 9.

25-year-old Georgiou, from Stonebridge, is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label. He was arrested after British Transport Police officers raided his home last week, according to the Kilburn Times.

He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody after appearing before the City Of Westminster Magistrates Court last Saturday (June 4). He is due to be appear in front of Blackfriars Crown Court on June 15.

Georgiou is the fifth person to be charged in connection with the shooting of the 27-year-old. The victim had travelled from south London to take part in a football project at Stonebridge Pavilion. He was rushed to hospital after being shot in the back in the station foyer, and has since been discharged.

A 16-year-old girl, two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old youth are also accused of attempted murder, and remanded to appear at West London Youth Court. Additionally, another 20-year-old who was arrested in connection with the incident is bailed to return to a police station later this month.
