Jay-Z joined Coldplay on stage on New Year's Eve, shortly before racking up a £250,000 bar bill welcoming in 2013.

The rapper and business mogul rapped alongside his friend Chris Martin at the band's 'Holiday Party' at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. The venue is the home of the Brooklyn Nets, the basketball team owned by Jay-Z.

During the performance Chris Martin invited Paltrow, their daughter Apple and her friend on stage, with Jay-Z joining the band to rap on 'Lost+', which featured on their 'Prospekt's March' EP.

After midnight it was then Jay-Z's turn, kicking off a 25-song set of his own with 'Run This Town'. He also performed 'Hovi Baby', 'Feelin' It', 'I Just Wanna Love U (Give It To Me)', 'Izzo (H.O.V.A.)', 'Big Pimpin', '99 Problems', Rick Ross' '3 Kings', 'Money Ain't A Thang', G.O.O.D Music's 'Clique', 'Can I Get A…' and 'La La La (Excuse Me Again)' among others.

After the concert, guests hit the the VIP bar – nicknamed The Vault – which reportedly featured a wall made from hundreds of bottles of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold — worth more than £300 each.

There was also a special 30-litre bottle of the champagne brought it, which was more than 4ft tall and weighed 100kg.

Guests included Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow – of course married to Jay-Z and Chris Martin respectively – Cheryl Cole and boyfriend Tre Holloway, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift and One Direction's Harry Styles.
