Jay-Z is reportedly working on the score for forthcoming Baz Luhrmann film The Great Gatsby.

As reported by NME in 2012, the soundtrack to the forthcoming Hollywood film is set to be a star-studded affair with both Prince and Lady Gaga reported to be appearing. Now, Jeymes Samuel of The Bullitts has revealed that he is working alongside Jay-Z on the film's score and that the results are currently "too dope for words". The movie, which is directed by Baz Luhrmann, stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan and will be released in May. Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Amitabh Bachchan and newcomer Elizabeth Debicki will also appear.

Posting on Twitter on December 30, Samuel wrote:

Speaking to Indiewire about the names linked to the movie in 2012, cast member Adelaide Clemens said: “They have some new music that’s going to be added to the film. Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don’t think Warner Bros are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door… I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that.”

The Great Gatsby was originally due to be released on Christmas Day of this year, but its release date has been pushed back by six months. The trailer for the film was released earlier this year, with Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'No Church In The Wild' featuring heavily throughout. Scroll down the page to see it now.
