A hacker has published personal and private financial information about Jay-Z and Beyonce online.

A host of other public figures were also subject to the attack, including Hollywood actors Ashton Kutcher and Mel Gibson, socialites Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, US government officials Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and FBI director Robert Mueller.

Credit card details, social security numbers, mortgage payments and contact information was made public via screen shots of online banking information, reports TMZ.

The Los Angeles Police Department and FBI are currently looking into the situation.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z's Annie remake has been given a Christmas Day 2014 release date by Sony Pictures.

Oscar-nominated child actress Quvenzhané Wallis will take on the title role after original lead Willow Smith was deemed to have outgrown it.

Nine-year-old Wallis earned a best actress nomination for her impressive debut performance in last year's Beasts Of The Southern Wild, but lost out to Jennifer Lawrence when the Oscars were handed out last month.

Jay-Z will headline this years' Wireless Festival at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London, on July 13, topping a bill that also features Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, DJ Fresh and Calvin Harris.
