Australian pop star Kylie Minogue is lining up for a potential collaboration with Jay-Z on her forthcoming new record.

Jay-Z, who recently signed the singer to his label Roc Nation, is said to be planning a visit to the studio to listen to Minogue's work with a view to guest-starring on a track, reports The Sun today. This news comes soon after it was announced that the 'Spinning Around' singer would also be working with Pharrell Williams on the release, which currently has no confirmed due date.

A source close to the studio has stated, "Jay is a big fan of Kylie’s, he’s always liked her music. The music she’s making with Pharrell is sounding great and he’s been talking about it non-stop. They like the idea of bringing a rap edge to her style."

As well as his possible collaboration with Minogue, Jay-Z is also lining up to release his own record, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail', on July 4.

It was recently revealed that the album, which will be the rapper's 12th studio LP, is set to feature Nirvana lyrics after Courtney Love gave permission to use words from 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. "I'm letting Jay-Z use lyrics - Frances [Bean Cobain] would freak [if she knew about it]. Jay-Z's huge and we're friends. I mean we're not besties or anything...." Love explained to the Huffington Post.

It was also recently announced that free downloads of the forthcoming album, one million of which are to be given away to Samsung Galaxy customers 72 hours before the record's official release date, will not be eligible for the UK chart. "Music which consumers receive free of charge, either as physical releases or downloads, have never counted towards the Official Charts and this release will be no different," explained a representative for the Official UK Charts company. "Legitimate purchases of Jay-Z's album will count, however, as usual."
