Jay-Z sanctioned the release of a new version of his song 'Dead Presidents' during his Twitter Q+A session last night (July 8).

The rapper engaged with fans for hours via the social network revealing that he is currently listening to James Blake's album as well as his thoughts on Miley Cyrus and where he places his new album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' in a list of his greatest albums. However, fans were also given the opportunity to hear an extended version of 'Dead Presidents', a song originally released in 1996. A second version of the track appeared on the 'Reasonable Doubt' album that same year.

It is understood that a third version of 'Dead Presidents' was recorded while Jay-Z was making his 'American Gangster' album with a rough version of the track appearing online in 2007. When asked by a fan if a full version of the song would be available soon, he replied: "Just [Blaze] or [Young] Guru has it I give them Twitter permission to GO."

Producer Young Guru immediately uploaded the track, which now features additional production and extra verses, to Soundcloud. However, fellow producer Just Blaze later clarified that the new version of the song is not too different from the one which leaked in 2007. "Sorry to crush your dreams but… All you've heard of DP3 is all that exists. To clarify: DP3 had 2 verses, one of which got used on another record. So there’s only that 1 verse. Sorry. That being said, The one verse version is out. Has been for years. Was on a @DJGREENLANTERN mix tape. Google is your friend."

Scroll down to hear the version of 'Dead Presidents III' uploaded by Young Guru last night.
