Homeland actor Damian Lewis has revealed he was thrilled to land a namecheck on a recent Jay-Z track.

'FUTW', from the rapper's latest album 'Magna Carta Holy Grail', features the couplet: "Feel like a stranger in my own land / Got me feeling like Brody in Homeland."

"It's one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me," Lewis said an interview with Esquire. "My natural habitat is quite a long way from, you know, a gangster rapper. So the fact I've somehow straddled popular culture to find myself name checked... From the RSC... To the Jay Z."

Meanwhile, Jay Z recently unveiled the video for 'Holy Grail', a song from his 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' album that features Justin Timberlake. The album was released in July of this year and became the rapper's first LP to reach Number One on the UK's Official Albums Chart.

Lewis will reprise his role as "Brody in Homeland" when season three of the acclaimed political drama begins later this month on US network Showtime. The new season is expected to start airing on Channel 4 shortly afterwards in early October.
