Jennifer Garner to play young Miss Marple in Disney remake

New project will show Agatha Christie's detective in her younger years

Jennifer Garner is set to star in a new Disney project putting a new spin on Miss Marple.

The studio is set to work on a new version of Agatha Christie‘s English countryside super-sleuth from the writer’s long series of murder mysteries.

According to Deadline.com the Disney version will break with the traditional portayal of Miss Marple as an elderly spinster. Instead Marple will be shown as a younger woman still developing her crime-solving abilities.

The website reports that the 38 year-old Juno and Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past actress is attached to the role of Marple, currently being portrayed on British TV by Geraldine McEwan.

Writer Mark Frost is in the frame to pen the script. Garner can next be seen in Arthur.
