Jimi Hendrix for new multi-instrument 'Guitar Hero'

Game will give 'Rock Band' a run for its money

Several Jimi Hendrix tracks have been slated to feature on the brand new edition of computer game ‘Guitar Hero’, to be released this fall.

‘The Wind Cries Mary’ and ‘Purple Haze’ will be included on the newest version, the fourth in the game’s series, which will come out October 27.

Experience Hendrix, which runs the late guitarist’s legacy, provided the game’s developers with the material. The version of ‘Purple Haze’ that will feature is a live track, recorded at the San Diego Sports Arena in 1969.

The new version of the game will also feature drums and a microphone, to rival ‘Rock Band’, a popular game of a similar nature.

As previously reported, ’ as-yet unreleased new track ‘Schackler’s Revenge’ will feature on the forthcoming second edition of ‘Rock Band’, which will also feature tracks from Panic At The Disco, Interpol and Paramore, among others.
