Jimi Hendrix's stepsister pays tribute to Mitch Mitchell
Janie Hendrix hails drummer's role in 'shaping' brother's sound
Jimi Hendrix's stepsister has paid tribute to her brother's drummer Mitch Mitchell, who died last night (November 12).
Janie Hendrix is also the chief executive of the Experience Hendrix Tour, which the rock legend had been on just prior to his death. She was full of praise for Mitchell, who apparently passed away due to natural causes.
"He was a wonderful man, a brilliant musician and a true friend," she told AP. "His role in shaping the sound of The Jimi Hendrix Experience cannot be underestimated."
