JIMMY EAT WORLD RELEASES SHELVED Get Tickets

The 'Bleed American' releases are understandably shelved, while Ryan Adams pulls his Big Apple-related single too...

Upcoming punk band JIMMY EAT WORLD have postponed the release of their single and album, both titled 'BLEED AMERICAN', following the recent terrorist activity in the US.

The American group intended to release the single on October 8, and follow with the album of the same name on October 22 in the UK.
However, because of the title of the record, the releases have been postponed until further notice.

A statement reads: "Following the events in New York and Washington this week, it has been decided that the releases of the forthcoming Jimmy Eat World single and album, both entitled 'Bleed American' are to be postponed... we are sure everyone will understand the reasoning behind this decision."

A UK spokesperson for the group told NME.COM that a decision on when the record will be released is likely in the coming days.

Elsewhere, Ryan Adams has postponed the release of his new single 'New York New York'. The track, due for release on October 22, will be released at a later date, although it remains unclear when.

The postponement does not effect the release of his new solo album, 'Gold', on September 24.
