New bands to play at punk legend’s festival

Joe Strummer festival announced

A festival held in honour of Joe Strummer has been announced.

Strummerville Nights has been launched by the Joe Strummer Foundation with the purpose of showcasing new bands.

Strummerville Studios will be officially launched on July 5 at Stable Way in west London.

July 6 will be performance based, hosting the acts The Larry Love Showband (Alabama 3 unplugged), Flipron, The Barker Band, Attack The System, DJ Scratchy and DJ Statik.

According to their official site Strummerville foundation was launched in 2004 with the aim of providing studio time, rehearsal space and performance opportunities to up and coming bands and individuals, who would not otherwise have a chance to do so.
