THE GRAND OLD DUKE OF YORK!

Film soundtrack composer JOHN BARRY is set to be honoured by his home city of YORK by being awarded Freeman status of the town.

Oscar winner Barry, who has been behind the music for several James Bond films as well as major successes such as 'Zulu', 'Born Free' and 'Dances With Wolves', will be bestowed with the honour in the Yorkshire city early next year.

The decision to mark Barry was taken last night (November 13) at a city council meeting. It was unanimously agreed by all 53 councillors.
