John Lennon memorabilia to be auctioned

Items include his car and the ‘Abbey Road’ white suit

John Lennon’s car and his iconic white suit which featured on the cover of The Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’ album are to go under the hammer.

The legend’s 1956 Austin Princess – the modified hearse that featured in the 1973 ‘Imagine’ documentary - will be just one of the rarities set to feature in the auction by Julien’s Auctions on October 2 in Las Vegas.

The vehicle also includes a signed registration, and has been valued between $200,000 and $300,000.

According to Associated Press, other items to be sold include the white suit worn by the singer on the cover of The Beatles’ 1969 album ‘Abbey Road’ and the embroidered jacket sported by in ‘Imagine’.

Amnesty International USA will receive some of the profits from the auction, and the event will be televised for the US by Voom HD.
