John Lennon exhibit set for New York City

'John Lennon: The New York City Years' will open next month

An exhibition based on John Lennon’s years in New York City is set to open next month at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex NYC.

The exhibition entitled ‘John Lennon: The New York City Years’ will include many artifacts from Lennon’s life in New York, from photographs to musical instruments, handwritten lyrics and artwork.

Lennon’s Green Card and letters that petitioned for his American visa will be included, some of which were written by the likes of Joan Baez, Dick Clark and John Lindsay, the mayor of the city from 1966 to 1973.

His famous New York City T-shirt will be on display, as well as a self-portrait with his fist in the air imitating the Statue Of Liberty.

A portion of proceeds from the exhibition will go towards Spirit Foundations, a charitable organisation created by Lennon and Yoko Ono.

one last thing..you "AMERICANS" cause this...you have a thought that somehow your "BETTER" than everyone else..guess what..AMERICANS cause more harm in the world than any other country...check the stats! I'm sick because OUR Canadians are being killed in YOUR war again! I am tired of hearing about how many Canadians have died for YOUR country! Live and let live..give and you will recieve!

Wow, lori. way to generalize all Americans. I'll have you know we aren't all war-loving, pigheaded, killers. Very few of us are, actually. And anyone in the world could have killed John. Don't blame a whole nation for one of it's tragedies. On a lighter note, I adore John. Plus, anyone who has read or seen any Lennon interview could tell you he loved New York City like his own home. I think the exhibit is a marvelous idea, and i can't wait to see it for my self. Peace & Love ;D

Lori24,As a New Yorker all of my life AND blaming the citiziens of the United States for John Lennon's death is insane. I am surprised that a Canadian would say something so stupid and ignorant like this. Canada is a beautiful country with beautiful people so I don't know what rock you crawled out from? WE, the United States, not only defend ourselves but the entire free world from terrorism and, to let you know, I'm against this war but you need to know that if it weren't for us, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver would have gotten a 9/11 by now.
