Rare John Lennon items for Liverpool exhibition

Cynthia and Julian Lennon are presenting exhibition

A new exhibition showcasing an unseen glimpse into John Lennon's personal life is set to open in Liverpool on June 17.

'White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon' is set up by Lennon's former wife Cynthia and his son Julian, and is held in conjunction with Liverpool's Beatles Story museum.

Featuring previously unseen possessions and images of Lennon's family life, the exhibition is set to be held at the Mersey Ferries terminal building at Liverpool's Albert Dock. It runs until December 31.

In a statement about the exhibition, Julian Lennon said: "John Lennon is an idol to millions of people who grew up loving his music and ideals, but to me he is the father I loved and lost.

"I hope this exhibition lets people see another aspect of his life and our time together as a family. This collection represents something of great importance to us as it is part of our history."

The White Feather Foundation is also the name of a charity currently being set up by Lennon, focussing on environmental and humanitarian issues.
