He debuts new material at Mercury Lounge
John Mayer performed a surprise set at Mercury Lounge in New York on Saturday night (October 13).
Taking to the stage at the tiny club on the Lower East Side, Mayer road tested a new song called ‘Let A Man Be Lost’, the lyrics of which he had written earlier that day.
The singer plans to play more intimate shows in New York and Los Angeles, and says he will be playing a new song during every set.
In a blog post yesterday, Mayer said he will be “taking small late night gigs around New York City and Los Angeles, writing songs and playing them when they're still fresh. The date of the gig is my self-imposed finish line and I will play a new song with each set I perform.”
