MANCHESTER UNITED FOR JOHN PEEL

A host of stars organise a charity Christmas gig in memory of the broadcasting legend...

The stars of MANCHESTER music are getting together for a special CHRISTMAS gig in honour of JOHN PEEL.

Badly Drawn Boy, Stephen Fretwell, [a][/a] and two very special mystery guests join together on December 19 for ‘Christmas Kicks’ at the Southern Hotel in Chorlton.

Also appearing will be Tractor, one of Peel’s first signings to the label he ran the 1970s, Dandelion Records.

The bands will perform songs that featured in Peel’s ‘festive 50’ over the years, with the decks manned by Elliott Eastwick, John McCready, Richard Hector-Jones and Phil Beckett. Marc ‘The Lard’ Riley will host the night.

All proceeds will be donated to Amnesty International. Tickets cost £12 and are available from Piccadilly Records on Oldham Street, Manchester.
