Johnpeelmusic.com launches to promote new music

John Peel’s legacy honoured with new website

John Peel’s legacy for discovering and promoting new music is to be honoured with the launch of a brand new website devoted to finding fresh talent.

The late DJ’s record label Dandelion Records and Universal Music today announced the arrival of www.johnpeelmusic.com, which will be supervised by Peel’s son, Tom Ravenscroft (October 13).

Unsigned bands and artists from around the world will be invited to upload their music to the site and visitors will decide on the strongest of the online demos, which could lead to being picked up for a release with full major label support.

Johnpeelmusic.com will be supervised by Ravenscroft as well as Peel’s long time agent and business partner, Clive Selwood.

Speaking about the project, Selwood said: “For 30-odd years John was the point of reference for the best new cutting edge talent and now there’s no real replacement. The ethos behind this site is to fill that void and in turn reveal the next generation of recording stars.”
